Process evaluation

A detailed study of the customer's process improves the implementation by:

  • identifying the most appropriate evaporator model
  • identifying the best operational settings

Process evaluation can be made by performing a chemical analysis of the waste water, an evaporation test and a feasibility study based on mass balance sheet, costs evaluation and pay back.

The process evaluation made by Led Italia is based on a standard procedure:

  • the customer completes the evaluation forms provided by Led Italia with data concerning the amount of waste water to be treated and costs of disposal
  • after examination of the customer data, Led Italia makes a search of similar or equivalent cases into its computer data system.
  • Led Italia evaluates one of the evaporation solutions suggested by the computer search for that case.
  • When possible, a list of alternative solutions is submitted to the customer to give him a wider choice.

Led Italia makes a preliminary quotation specifying the equipment price, installation, start-up and running costs for each suggested solutions. In addition, if the customer has given investment details, we provide a return on investment plan.

Sampling

Once the client has selected the Led Italia solution, a representative sample of the clients wastewater is collected for analysis.

The samples have to be sent to Led Italia in appropriate packaging, observing local and international freight legislation.

Testing and analysis

Samples are sent by Led Italia to our partner laboratories. There, they are analysed and subjected to an evaporation test that replicates the operating conditions of full size equipment.

The selection of parameters for analysis includes typical chemical substances from the process that generated the wastewater, parameters which can influence the evaporation process, and a few which are important to ensure correct materials for construction of the equipment.

Pilot plants

Pilot evaporation plants are available from Led Italia which can be operated at a clients site to enable investigation of particular wastewaters.
